Terrace Standard Features SVE's Youth on the Water Program
This summer SVE is instructing a 10 day river raft skills training course for the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition (SWCC). The program's goals include providing tangible and transferrable skills using the natural environment, increasing self esteem in students, and increasing students awareness of the need for environmental protection. SVE;s involvement is in teaching the river rafting skills portion.

Terrace featured as Best Creeking Town in Canada
Rapid Magazine has featured the city of Terrace as the best creeking town in Canada. For those who don't know, "creeking" is a type of river kayaking. It's no surprise to us as we know first hand how great the whitewater is here.

Ride Guide Features Terrace in the Winter

BCROA
The British Columbia River Outfitter's Association oversees operating standards and guide certifications for river rafting in BC. Skeena Valley Expeditions is an active member and exceeds all operational standards.

Wilderness Tourism Association
The Wilderness Tourism Association exists to ensure the ongoing viability of our industry through the protection of the wilderness tourism land base.
The WTA believes that wilderness tourism is a viable and sustainable economic enterprise, and that BC's wilderness tourism operators must have a strong voice in determining how the lands upon which they depend are planned and developed.
SkeenaWild Conservation Trust
SkeenaWild Conservation Trust was started in the fall of 2007. We are a regional conservation initiative whose goal is to make the Skeena River watershed and nearby coastal communities a global model of ecologic and economic sustainability. We are governed by a group of seven volunteer trustees drawn from a variety of backgrounds.
Rivershed Society of British Columbia
The Rivershed Society of BC exists to inspire communities to care for and care about riversheds. They promote awareness of the water environment and operate a bunch of really interesting programs and projects.
Outdoor Recreation Council of BC
Promoting access to and responsible use of BC's public lands and waters for public outdoor recreation. ORC hosts the BC Rivers Day each September and is a major promotor of protecting our rivers.

Exciting Events
Skeena River Swim
Ali Howard is a Smithers BC resident and she swam the entire 610 Km of the Skeena River over about 3 weeks in July of 2009. The goal of this project was to raise awareness of the importance of the Skeena River.
